有关海龟和鱼的传说

　　从前，下川岛的渔民认为大海龟是神龟，可以保佑渔民风调雨顺、出海平安、渔获丰收，因此一直以来，渔民都不捕捉大海龟，有时捕捞到海龟也诚心放生。 　　曾有一个传说，一家陈姓渔民在海中捕鱼，在起*别重，以为是很多鱼。陈伯忙叫两个儿子合力起网。想不到，竟拉上来一只重150多公斤的大海龟。海龟被放在船板上后，它不断向着陈伯父子点头。陈伯三父子会意是海龟求他们将其放生。他们认定这是只神龟，马上点燃香烛，跪在海龟面前，双手合十，求神龟原谅，并保陈家平安。拜毕，陈伯父子3人合力把海龟放回海中。海龟在海中游出10多米后，又向陈伯的渔船游回来，这样一连3个来回，意为向渔船谢恩告别。于是，陈伯他们更加相信海龟是神龟，并为放生这只神龟感到庆幸和快慰。这一天，陈伯父子渔获丰收，满载而归。 　　此后，陈伯父子在海上遇到神龟的故事在海岛渔村里越传越奇，大家都相信海龟是神龟，自愿自觉保护海龟，不但不捕捉海龟，有时在海边沙滩碰上海龟在生蛋，也不惊动它，不挖海龟蛋，让海龟仔回归大海，此地便成为了海龟的安乐窝和生态乐园。直到今天，一到春夏之交的海龟产蛋季节，这里天天都见到成群的海龟悠然自得地爬上沙滩，拨窝生蛋，繁殖子孙。下川岛的海湾自然成为了海龟聚集的乐园，引来不少慕名而来的游客，一时海角成旺地。
